The CABALA Juice Fast Day 8 Video

Ultimate Sports Therapy – Holistic Lifestyle Coach Brandon Krieger Day 8 of CABALA Juice Fast

Good Morning Everyone,

I’m on Day 8 of the CABALA Juice Fast Today I spoke with David Beckles PTS. Owner of Dynamic Athletic Bodies.

David is a great friend of mine from High School, we have known each other for years and I have seen how David has motivated people to make changes in their lives.  David is a Personal Trainer and Owns his own business Dynamic Athletic Bodies www.dabfitness.ca where he trains client across the General Toronto Area.

Today we talked about what his thoughts were on a juice fasting because this was one question we never really discussed. We have talked about training and how to help our clients but never about juice fasting.

David has never done a Juice Fast himself and he couldn’t see himself going without food for long periods of time because he loves eating so much. He has had clients he has worked with due their own juice fast but he has never tried it himself, but has thought about it. One of his main concerns was the lack of nutrients you are consuming through a Juice Fast and if your an active person how can you do both.  As discussed when you are on a Juice Fast you have to limit your activity level due to the small amount of nutrients you are consuming.

David tried my Juice and liked it and he’s thinking he might try a juice fast maybe for a week or so.

I would like to Thank David Beckles for taking the time to meet with me.

Remember Juice Fasting is not for everyone, you have to really be ready to do a Juice fast because it does take a lot of work and dedication.

The CABALA Juice Fast Day 7 Video

July 19, 2011

Ultimate Sports Therapy – Holistic Lifestyle Coach Brandon Krieger Day 7 of CABALA Juice Fast

Good Morning Everyone,

I’m on Day 7 of the CABALA Juice Fast Today I talked about the colours of the foods and reference on the chakra systems. This is how I was explained also the doctrine of signatures.

Now this is just a basic overview which there is a lot more detail. Think of the chakra’s in this instance as land marks to the body. Each food is helping support that area of the body because of it’s colour.

Carrots – Orange gives energy and helps repair the 2nd Chakra the related organ Sex organs, bladder and prostate organ. The emotions are Stress of sexuality and relationships

Red Apples – Give energy and help repair  the 1st Chakra –  the related organ are bones, and skeletal structure. The emotions are Safety and security in life

Beet — energy and help repair the 5th, 6th and 7th Chakra
the related body parts are Mouth, Throat and Ears. The emotions are Mental congestion, lack of mental clarity or creativity. connection with a higher purpose.

Green Apples – Give energy and help repair on the 4th Chakra the related organ is the heart and emotions stress over relationships and love.

Lemon  – Gives energy and help repair the 3rd Chakra the related organ is the liver and kidney and emotions are personal power and self will.

Yellow Apples.  Give energy and help repair  the 3rd Chakra the related organ is the liver and kidney and emotions are personal power and self will.

now when it comes to the Doctrine of Signatures think of each food was made to serve as nutrients for a specific part of the body.  For example

Walnuts look like casing on the outside and then when you crack a walnut the inside looks like a… brain. So guess what body part it provides nutrients for.  A Tomato, when you cut it in half does it look like 4 area’s you might say like the heart.  Kidney beans do they look like kidney’s.  Foods that we have to reach up for our good for the top 3rd of our body foods that are grown above grown are good for the middle and foods that are grown underground are the body 3rd of our body. These examples go on and on but I think you get the point.

In our daily nutrients we need to consume foods that are going to help build and repair the body.  That is why if you really look you will see how foods is there to build the body.

The CABALA Juice Fast Day 5 Video

July 18, 2011

Ultimate Sports Therapy – Holistic Lifestyle Coach Brandon Krieger Day 5 of CABALA Juice Fast

Good Morning Everyone,

I’m on Day 5 of the CABALA Juice Fast last night was tough I haven’t gone to the bathroom in about 4 days. I have been constipated because of all the fiber I have been consuming. This is normal for me through a fast and normally by day 3 or 4 I start going to the bathroom again. The key is to reduce as much stress as you can, walk and drink lots of water.

This fast is extremely hard for people who have a North American Lifestyle. family, work, education, after school activities…etc.

That is why as I mentioned yesterday in the Video that when people wanted to get into the temple they had to cleanse the body. Fasting was just one requirement. Through that fast they had to stay in the local area and meditate. They didn’t go to their jobs, do physical labour, they just relaxed.

That is why it is so hard to FAST in a North American lifestyle.

Just a reminder of the ingredients

The ingredients for the CABALA Juice is

4 to 6 Carrots
2 Red Apples
1/2 a Beet
2 Green Apples
1 Lemon
2 Yellow Apples.

I do add spinach for iron and vitamin B.

If your just reading the article and not able to see the Youtube Video you can go to our Youtube channel to watch the video on  “Ultimatesporttherapy” channel.

Oh by they way I spoke to the Martial Arts Instructor for today and let him know that I’m doing a FAST and couldn’t do any intense exercises. They said that was fine and come out to get the information.

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!

If you have any illness and/or on any medication please consult with a practitioner and/or doctor before doing this Juice Fast. If you are not sure please contact me and I will answer any questions you might have.

The CABALA Juice Fast Day 4 Video

July 16, 2011

Ultimate Sports Therapy – Holistic Lifestyle Coach Brandon Krieger Day 4 of CABALA Juice Fast

Good Morning Everyone,

I’m on Day 4 of the CABALA Juice Fast I started to have cravings last night and wow I was tired. I feel better this morning but I can tell I am fasting. I am suppose to train tomorrow at a Martial Arts Seminar but I am not sure I am going to go. I will let you know tomorrow morning before I go.

Just a reminder of the ingredients

The ingredients for the CABALA Juice is

4 to 6 Carrots
2 Red Apples
1/2 a Beet
2 Green Apples
1 Lemon
2 Yellow Apples.

I do add spinach for iron and vitamin B.

If your just reading the article and not able to see the Youtube Video today I talked about the history of fasting. Thousands of years ago before people would go into temples they would have to cleanse themselves internally as well as externally. The internal process was fasting on water and they had to do it for 39 days prior to going into the temple.  The 39 days represented 3 sections of the body. The first 13 days was from the feet to the navel. The next 13 days was from the navel to the throat and the final 13 days was from the throat to the heavens (top of the head). This process would cleanse the entire body and people were allowed into the temple after they completed this process. Where in the temple they would be cleaned with essential oils, have an abundance of healthy food and be educated with sacred teachings.

That is a brief overview of cleansing and do me a favor and share this video. We all need to help each other heal no matter what we are going through.

The CABALA Juice Fast Day 3 Video

July 16, 2011

Ultimate Sports Therapy – Holistic Lifestyle Coach Brandon Krieger Day 3 of CABALA Juice Fast

Good Morning Everyone,

I am on Day 3 of the CABALA Juice Fast and I am feeling it. I am tired and really warn out. My emotions are balance but just really tired and was feeling some pain in my right lower back. I am thinking it’s my liver and I wasn’t drinking enough water.  After drinking 1 litre of water I was feeling better and the pain went away.

Just a reminder of the ingredients

The ingredients for the CABALA Juice is

4 to 6 Carrots
2 Red Apples
1/2 a Beet
2 Green Apples
1 Lemon
2 Yellow Apples.

I do add spinach for iron and vitamin B.

Remember as you are going through this fast if your doing it as well I recommend you drink lots of good quality water 300 PPM (Parts Per Million) and PH balance of 7. Evan and Fuji are the best waters, now if you can’t afford to purchase water all the time then put a pinch of organic sea salt in your water. If you taste the salt you put to much in.  Drink 3 to 4 litres of water per day to flush out all the toxins that are breaking down.

Next is exercise, Please stay away from exercise because you are not taking enough nutrients in to supply yourself with the energy to work out. I recommend that you go for a walk say 15min to 60min and as the fast progress increase it. As your body cleans up your will have more energy. If you feel the urge to work out please consult with someone who knows about fasting. As well understands training this way you don’t train yourself into injury or sickness.

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!

If you have any illness and/or on any medication please consult with a practitioner and/or doctor before doing this Juice Fast. If you are not sure please contact me and I will answer any questions you might have.

The CABALA Juice Fast Day 1 and 2 Video

July 14, 2011

Ultimate Sports Therapy – Holistic Lifestyle Coach Brandon Krieger Day 1 and 2 of CABALA Juice Fast

Good Morning Everyone,

I am back doing the CABALA Juice Fast. I just started day 1 yesterday and just showed how to make the juice. Day 2 today and it has been a hard morning feeling tired. I am also feeling the cleansing happening.

Just a reminder of the ingredients

The ingredients for the CABALA Juice is

4 to 6 Carrots
2 Red Apples
1/2 a Beet
2 Green Apples
1 Lemon
2 Yellow Apples.

I do add spinach for iron and vitamin B.

People have asked me why I am doing this Cabala Juice Fast and the reason are these.

I have been gaining weight and am up to 228lbs as of today and I know that is all because of stress. When I mean stress it is over working, now depending on what stress your dealing with it could be mental, emotional, physical, environment and chemical. These stresses would case the body to gain weight.

Now I want to remind people this is not a diet, this is a way to cleanse the garbage out of the system. You will lose weight through the process but after the cleanse you need to eat properly to maintain the weight loss and stay healthy.

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!

If you have any illness and/or on any medication please consult with a practitioner and/or doctor before doing this Juice Fast. If you are not sure please contact me and I will answer any questions you might have.

Keep an eye out for my posts because I am going to go through it with you.

Thanks Everyone,

Morning aches and swollen joints: Osteoarthritis

May 26, 2011

By definition osteoarthritis is a chronic degeneration of the articular cartilage and subchondral part of bone in joints. Healthy cartilage is resilient and able to yield under compression and recover when the weight has been removed. This is partially due to the fact that cartilage is 80% water! Osteoarthritis can be as a result of years of biomechanical stress or have no known cause. It is one of the oldest known conditions, and as a result massage has been it’s primary treatment for eons, with mention of massage as treatment in by Hippocrates in 400 BC and Chinese writings as far back as 3000 BC .

In the early stages the ends of the bone where the cartilage resides start to break down. Initially the response is for the joint to swell as the body attempts to heal itself. However because cartilage has little or no blood supply this inflammatory response is ineffective. This stage may last for years.

Over time the number cells that cause the inflammatory response lessen and the cartilage thins and softens, forming ridges and portions of the cartilage start to break off into the joint space. Eventually the more sensitive subchondral bone becomes exposed. Later as the subchondral bone remodels and thickens, and the exposed surface becomes polished from the constant bone on bone contact. Small fractures and cysts appear and weaken the bone structure. In an attempt to support the joint, new bone and cartilage grow at the ends of the joint called bone spurs or osteophytes altering the shape of the joint and restricting movement, as well as compressing nerve roots, such as in the spine. Muscles in both stages may tighten and go into spasm.

Massage can complement to a complete osteoarthritis pain management program(exercise, proper nutrition , drug therapies, stress management, hydrotherapy) -after correct medical diagnosis by your doctor or rheumatologist- for all stages by addressing the symptoms- loosening tight muscles, increasing local blood flow, and increasing range of motion-how far you can move! It can also help with the stress of the condition- by enhancing your sense of well being, so you can get on with your day, be it work or play!

To book a visit with Jennifer to see how she can help you with your osteoarthritis pain contact Ultimate Sports Therapy today!

Golfer’s Elbow

May 26, 2011

Golfer’s elbow is pain caused by inflammation on the inner side of your elbow, where the tendons of your forearm muscles attach to the inside of your elbow. The pain can be constant or intermittent, and often spreads into your forearm and wrist.

Golfer’s elbow also known as “medial epicondylitis” is similar to tennis elbow, but it occurs on the inside rather than the outside of your elbow. it is important to note that this disorder is not limited to golfers. Construction workers, office employees, and others who repeatedly use their wrists or clench their fingers also can develop golfer’s elbow.

The pain of golfer’s elbow doesn’t have to keep you off the course or away from your favorite activities. With proper attention and treatment, you can get back to doing the activities you love quite quickly.

The use of Osteopathic Techniques can quickly remove a large majority of strain in the muscles of the forearm and release the tension on the joint. This will steadily decrease the amount of inflammation that is causing the pain. The combination of ultrasound therapy and laser therapy are also commonly used to increase the healing potential of the tissues in cases of Golfer’s Elbow as well.

Of course, the patient with Golfer’s Elbow will be given home exercises and stretches, but the best home solution is to ice and rest the elbow. For more information, please feel free to contact us at Ultimate Sports Therapy.

The Perfect Golf Swing

May 12, 2011

Ok duffers… this one’s for you.  Many of you watch your favorite player on the PGA Tour draw their club back effortlessly into the perfect position, perfectly on plane, and perfectly in balance, and many of you think to yourselves, “Yeah…That’s what my back swing looks like!” Then they swing at around 120mph, and finish in perfect follow through position, in perfect balance, and you say to yourself , “Yeah, that’s what my follow through position looks like!” Well, let me be the first to tell you…no it doesn’t!

“Well, why not?  How do you know that without watching me?” The simple explanation is that you are not flexible enough to get into that position in perfect balance.  Ever wonder why your back hurts the next day, and your knees are sore?  Without the flexibility to reach these positions, the joints of the low back, hips, knees and ankles become over stretched and strained.

I see people working on the plane so much these days, watching their club as it goes back and forth through the hitting zone, making sure their club stays fairly level with its starting position, and this is great.  But, I rarely see people with a video camera observing themselves.  Most people have a camera that takes video, and that’s all you need for a basic analysis, but you have to know what to look for.   Here are a few signs that you need to increase your flexibility…

1.  Head Movement.  If you watch yourself, and your head is moving behind the ball more than a few inches during your back swing, that means you are not rotating far enough, and you are compensating with “sway” for added power.

2.  Weak Top Position.  If you can not get your arms high enough to be in a high arc power position at the top of your back swing, or if the club is not reaching a parallel position, you are not flexible enough to get it there!

3.  Short Follow Through.  If you make a very short follow through, its a good sign you can’t get to a full follow through position, and

4.  Can’t hold the follow through position.  Even if you can make it to a solid follow through position, but can’t stay there in balance for more than a split second, You need more flexibility.

There are a few other issues like wrist and ankle flexibility that can affect the swing as well, but mostly it is the muscles of the torso, core, and lower back that need to be both flexible and strong.  If you see any of the above issues with your swing, or if you feel pain during your round or in the day or two after, feel free to gives us a call for an analysis.

Soon you’ll be looking like this…
